Course Overview
Love Evolution: Body Sense
In this workshop we look to explore and discover our body via the senses. In particular we become curious about the digital “zoom” space that has become a common way for us to communicate, in both our professional/work lives and in our personal/family lives. With curiosity and playfulness - we look at touch, sight, sound, taste and scent - and how these experiences happen in the virtual context. How does the personal; sensory experience get translated in a virtual format? How do I experience someone who isn’t actually in-front of me? What can you discover about yourself, and the person on the other-side of the screen by paying attention to your sensations? How can you deepen your experience of each other - to include intimacy - even over zoom? Our belief is that meaningful and intimate connection is still possible - even in a virtual setting - if attention is paid to sensation and experience. Our workshop is intended to help participants develop a language to deepen their own awareness of sensation experiences and to have a vocabulary to share with others.
Course OBJECTIVES
For participants to have an experience of their senses (sound, sight, touch, taste and smell) in a relational manner - that is to explore how sensory data impacts their interaction with another.
For participants to develop a vocabulary for noticing and sharing sensory experiences.
For participants to become curious about their virtual life - the experience of themselves, the other and their environment - when engaged in a virtual meeting.
For participants to discover how they can deepen intimacy in the virtual environment by attending to their sensory experiences and sharing these experiences with their virtual other.
