ADRIA KAIN

LABEL

Soul-filled and honest, Adria Kain takes from her own lived experiences, both painful & joyful, to share stories of love, resilience, embracing her identity as a queer, masc-presenting Black woman, and more. In full command of her spectacular voice, Kain's approach is restrained yet filled with a quiet confidence. The deeply felt collection of songs out today details her experience of reconnecting with nature to heal old wounds, grow into the most authentic version of herself, and just let go.

Heavily influenced by the likes of Frank Ocean, SZA, Nick Hakim, Dijon, among others - not just for their sound, but also for their ability to masterfully create a visual story through music - Kain has garnered praise from the likes of Fader, Complex, SPIN, and more. She's opened for BJ The Chicago Kid, Miguel, Ari Lennox and Questlove, featured on PARTYNEXTDOOR’s self-titled second album, and steadily built a name for herself throughout the Toronto scene.

BLAIR LEE

LABEL

Blair Lee is driven by her feelings.

That momentum comes through in the soft ways her music explores the darkness that comes before the light, in the cinematic promise of a happier ending. Blair uses her lyrics to work through the things she doesn’t understand and the places she doesn’t fit in. Through some of the sadness, hope and warmth always make their way through. Her songs perfectly pair a delicate vocal style with her penchant for 90s style electric guitars and the kind of stark honesty that evokes a gentle nostalgia.

Blair finds inspiration in the little things: her friends, interesting strangers, walks in the woods, moments of stillness, small towns, and quiet thoughts. She’s drawn to stories and the ways that music can shape and hold them. Her debut EP, The Puppy Game, is available everywhere now.

JONATHAN CHANDLER

PUBLISHING

Jonathan Chandler is a singer, songwriter and producer based in Ottawa, Canada. Being a firm believer that a great song is one that can be stripped to nothing but a guitar and a voice, Jonathan has also been known to deliver lush and layered arrangements in his work, spanning multiple genres and projects such as Amos the Transparent, Canadian Folk Award nominee Silent Winters, The Andy Kaufmans, and many more, including a fabled long lost project with a young TALK. Jonathan's sync placements include television shows and commercial work such as Degrassi, The Real World, Plenty of Fish and Offspring.

Nicolette is romantic about retro Western music; she speaks with a soft grit, a warm and distinguished rattle that lends her observations weight. Performing, she loosens into an unabashed howl, a fluid force turning upward at the edges with unmistakable twang. She keeps her lyrics no-nonsense—earthy comments on the human condition, floridity be damned. She reserves her flamboyance and flair for onstage attire—cowboy hats, fringed vests with matching hot pants, boots by all accounts made for walking.

By conservatory convention, Nicolette took piano lessons as a child, playing classical and eventually moving into Jazz. Throughout her adolescence, she discovered a love for icons like Shania Twain, Celine Dion, and Bright Eyes, and eventually dropped Jazz altogether. In its wake, Nicolette found something far more resonant.

Nicolette attributes her marked boldness to encouragement from The Nobodies. The Nobodies are Ian Bain on lead guitar, Daniel Paillé on drums, and Emma Howarth-Withers on bass.

Writing “The Long Way”, Nicolette took a period to thoughtfully relish the opportunities before her and to reckon with her role as a woman of color in a predominately white, male genre. The result is a collection of personal and adventurous songs.

With her newest album, The Art of Falling Apart, Serena invites listeners to join her mental wellness journey and helps us understand the importance of sitting with the uncomfortable moments and the wisdom in their messages. TALK

MANAGEMENT

TALK is eccentric, flashy and colourful, and he’s crafted a sound equally unique. He launched himself on a rocket with his debut single “Run Away to Mars”. Originally written at 3am on a lonely night, the song has connected with listeners all over the world: earning 450+ million of streams, rising to #1 on the Spotify Global Viral chart, and reaching multi-platinum certification around the world, including the United States, Canada, Sweden, Norway and more.

The track leads his debut album — Lord of the Flies & Birds & Bees — alongside viral hit “A Little Bit Happy” and rock anthem “Wasteland” which roared up the alternative and rock radio charts in Canada. The album propelled TALK to five JUNO nominations and his first win for Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2024 awards.

TALK has earned praise from Rolling Stone, American Songwriter, and People, performed on the Late Late Show with James Corden, and won Canadian Sync Artist of the Year 2024. His music has been licensed hundreds of times, and he's been featured in a number of television performances, including for the 2024 NHL All Star and the 2024 Montreal Formula One Grand Prix which was broadcast worldwide.

The Art Of…

"The Art Of…" is a project birthed from the collaboration of 8 Black artists of different cultural and genric backgrounds. This project is the paradigm for the innovation that ArtHaus facilitates, through merging each distinct song into one cohesive piece that still left room for the artists to showcase their individual musical styles and messages.

The project drew from a wide spectrum of genres, from R&B, Hip-Hop, and Rap to Folk, Psychedelia, and Experimental Electronica to create a blend of truly incredible songs for an unforgettable listening experience. We called in Grammy-winning producer Chin Injeti to help us bring this vision to life.

ArtHaus wants to support artists nationwide. Thus, all 8 artists—Sadé Awele, Desiree Dawson, IAMTHELIVING, Bukola, Iman Wamboi, Teon Gibbs, Phen Ray, and Chlose—are based out of BC.
